Work is progressing on a significant campus upgrade project at Wesley College Dublin.
The upgrade, which received planning permission in 2016, involves the refurbishment of an existing 3150m² sports hall and gymnasium and a 2-storey classroom and sports extension.
Roughan & O'Donovan is providing civil, structural and traffic engineering services for the scheme, as well as undertaking the role of PSDP. Its design partners are McHugh O’Cofaigh Architects, Seamus Monaghan & Partners, Johnston Reid & Associates and i3PT.
The main contractor is Stewart Construction.
The structural solution comprises a 2-storey masonry building with a combination of reinforced concrete frame and precast slabs to provide for flexibility of use in the future.
The development has several sustainable elements, including a green roof.
All the works are being carried out on a live school campus and to a challenging programme, which requires works to be completed in time for the 2018/2019 school calendar year.
