A €20 million estate of 61 council houses and apartments, Cornamona Court, is to be built by Dublin City Council on a site at Kylemore Road in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10.
Roughan & O'Donovan is providing civil and structural engineering services for the project in support of Paul Keogh Architects.
A Part VIII planning process was completed in early November.
The development will have 16 two-bedroom houses and 12 three-bedroom duplexes for families on the council's housing waiting list, as well as 29 one-bedroom and four two-bedroom senior citizens apartments. A residents’ common room is also included.
The scheme will be constructed around a shared landscaped courtyard over a substantial basement car park.
Assistant city manager and head of housing Brendan Kenny said the scheme represented a move towards more 'direct build' housing projects being undertaken by the council.
It is anticipated that the whole project should take 18 months to build.
