Roughan & O’Donovan (ROD) is delighted to announce that the Northern Spire Bridge project has been shortlisted in two categories in this year’s Engineers Ireland Excellence Awards – Engineering Project of the Year and Geoscience Ireland Award.
The Engineering Project of the Year Award recognises the highest level of achievement in the engineering field and provides peer recognition of outstanding engineering work.
The Geoscience Ireland Award recognises exceptional achievement in design and/or delivery of projects requiring significant geo-scientific expertise.
Commenting on the news, ROD’s Tony Dempsey said:
It is always an honour to be shortlisted for an Engineers Ireland Excellence Award, so to have been nominated in two categories this year is really exciting for us!
The Northern Spire Bridge is a testament to the exceptional level of application, innovation and achievement demonstrated by the project team comprising ROD, Buro Happold, Farrans and Victor Buyck.
It is a great pleasure for us to see the very real difference the bridge has already made to the lives of people living and working in Sunderland.
