Roughan & O’Donovan (ROD) has appointed Jim Thorpe as managing director, succeeding Harry Meighan, who will take up a new role as chairman of the group companies. Marc Jones will succeed Jim Thorpe as company secretary.
Harry Meighan commented: “It has been my honour and privilege to have led ROD for the past 12 years, and I look forward to assuming the chairman role where I intend to focus on strategy and business development.
We are delighted Jim has taken on the challenge of managing director. Jim first came to Ireland in 1999 as country manager for Maunsell, before joining ROD in 2007. Jim is a hugely talented engineer who knows the business extremely well, having served as director and company secretary since 2008.
Jim has a track record of delivering outstanding results and has led the establishment of our UK office in Otley and Roughan & O’Donovan UK Ltd since 2018. Under his leadership, we are confident the executive team will continue to drive the company forward, inspiring our people to reach new goals and deliver on our growth strategy for the UK market."
Commenting on his appointment, Jim Thorpe said, “I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead ROD. I thank the board of directors for placing their trust in me, and I look forward to taking the company through to our 50th anniversary in 2024, building on our reputation for excellence and delivering quality solutions for our clients in Ireland and the UK.”
