Associate

I earned an MSc in Civil Engineering from Trinity College Dublin in 2010 and joined ROD in 2011. Since then, I have worked on a variety of transportation projects, including national road schemes, urban traffic interventions, traffic impact assessments, urban cycle infrastructure and greenways.

My main area of interest is urban transport design, including traffic and junction design, cycle infrastructure and general road safety improvements. My recent experience as both traffic lead and assistant designer coordinator for BusConnects Dublin and BusConnects Cork has given me a greater appreciation for protected cyclists’ movements through junctions and their associated signalling implications.

I enjoy collaborating with a range of disciplines, including landscape architects, environmental consultants, and traffic modellers, and have worked closely with contractors on urban active travel design and build (D&B) schemes.

In addition to my project work, I serve as knowledge management coordinator for ROD, a role that involves coordinating our knowledge management systems and knowledge champions to ensure the dissemination of experience, resources and knowledge throughout the company.

A keen cyclist, I am working hard to convince my two young daughters that cycling is one of life’s great pleasures.
